Engineering & Design

WEMCO excels in creative problem-solving and innovation in design and engineering. Every production challenge is unique. Each project is thoughtfully designed to meet client objectives and function seamlessly within the industry.

WEMCO uses the latest in CAD engineering design software, state-of-the-art precision machining tools and procures parts and accessories from a wide variety of committed vendors.

WEMCO's approach for design-build projects follows a regimented process guaranteeing that we deliver the greatest overall value you can get from your new equipment

Assessment

The Design and Engineering of new equipment always begins with your needs. We evaluate your operation, your site conditions and your employees ergonomic and production needs, allowing WEMCO engineers to isolate major concerns and critical areas of design that are needed for optimal performance. Our engineers will make several site visits to gather needed information until this is achieved. Project performance requirements are then established to give you the most efficient and cost effective solution possible. WEMCO has tremendous experience in a variety of industries allowing us to deliver customized designs molded to your specific operation, not the average overall needs of the industry’s that you compete in.

Design

All WEMCO design projects are completed by a design team made up of Engineers from a variety of disciplines. Using the latest in proven technology from industries around the world, your WEMCO design team will solve your equipment needs in new and creative ways. The final design and configuration of your new WEMCO equipment is always engineered to fulfill or exceed the projects written performance requirements, using the most up to date and cutting edge 3D software. Structural feasibility of your equipment is checked with ANSYS FEA software. Your newly designed machine may be completely different than anything used in your industry to date, but it will be a new integrated piece of machinery built to last that leads you and your company to higher productivity levels.

Manufacturing

Once your WEMCO design team has developed the most value added design concept for your machinery, the production process begins. At this time you will realize the enormous advantage and added value of using an integrated Engineering / Manufacturing company to develop and manufacture your new equipment. WEMCO’s Engineering and Manufacturing departments are located in the same facility allowing our Project Management team to quickly coordinate between Engineering and the Manufacturing floor. It also gives WEMCO the advantage of starting the manufacturing portion of the project faster, allowing us to solve your equipment problems sooner than if you were using independent Engineering and Manufacturing companies to design and build your needed equipment solution. As detailed design work on complex sub-assemblies and electrical and hydraulic control systems continue, fabrication and machining of the main structures and equipment frames can be started immediately upon design release. All manufacturing processes and procedures are managed by an experienced team of WEMCO Project Managers.

Inspection

WEMCO’s design concepts are backed by quality workmanship and world class manufacturing capabilities. Our ISO9001 and AS9100C compliant Quality Management System calls for detailed inspection checks throughout the manufacturing process. In some cases material traceability from cradle to grave. These production and dimensional checks are administered by qualified industry professionals with state-of-the-art technology including laboratory calibrated Mitutoyo Crysta Apex-S CMM’s and Leica AT402 Laser trackers. All non-destructive welding inspections are performed by third party inspectors that are licensed by the AWS.

Commissioning

Once manufacturing is complete, experienced WEMCO technicians and application engineers will factory test the systems that make up your equipment. At this time, WEMCO can instruct your operators on proper operating and preventative maintenance practices. The same team that trains your people at the factory will accompany the equipment into service and help with reassembly and startup as well as continued training.

WEMCO is with you every step of the way making sure you receive a product that meets all project performance requirements and performs with uncompromising efficiency
